Zelaia Ciderhouse is located in the Martindegi neighbourhood between Hernani and Astigarraga on the banks of the Urumea River in the main cider-making valley.
Starting at the car park at the entrance to the dining hall, where you can enjoy common cider house dishes during the "Txotx" season, you can access the cidery directly from the dining hall.
The cidery is equipped for making natural cider, made up of 24 wood barrels and 4 stainless steel barrels, with a capacity of between 10,000 and 19,000 litres. Nowadays, all barrels have a temperature control system, so the cider is constantly at its optimal state.
Continuing on through the cidery, we come to the office and cider bottling area, made up of a bottle washer, rinser, filler, corker, labeller and packaging machine.Elaboración
The finished product warehouse or bottled cider has forced ventilation to ensure optimal temperature and humidity conditions.
From mid-January to late April, we open our doors for customers to come and taste the new vintage along with traditional dishes: chorizo in cider, cod omelette, fried cod with green peppers, barbecued cutlet, and to wrap up, cheese, nuts, apple jam and biscuits/wafers, all accompanied with cider to "Txotx", while maintaining the essence of tradition where you have supper standing up the sound of the magic word: TXOTX!!!Make a reservation
